The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Yeah, but it would sound a lot better if you replaced the speakers with four G12H-30's, four V30's, four Greenbacks, and four Celestion Blues, arranged in a diagonal stripe pattern.

:laugh2:

That's insane! Not only is that way too much power, but it would cost a fortune to retube it and a lot of muscle to move it.

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

I saw that thing at NAMM '05, and they had the FULL stack up. They had to climb a ladder to turn it off and on. :laugh2:

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

The clean headroom on that thing must go for miles...

As far as the most brutally loud amp I've ever heard, that would have to be a 200W Marshall Major.

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

600 watts of pure buzzin bee's.....mmmm

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Its that amp model actually for sale????? I would love to have one!

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Its not how big it is. Its how you use it.

... someone had to say it.

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Hehe, this thing keeps rearing its ugly head on many guitar forums I frequently attend. It truly is an insane amp. And I thought the stock Marty Friedman signature BV350 was rediculous! :fingersx:

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

As for the Marshall Majors thing, Ritchie Blackmore had his modified by Jim Marshall to include two extra power amp tubes. The result was 280 watts effect, the loudest amplifier ole' Jim has ever built.

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

But you don't need that much power, a 30W Peavey Classic is loaud enough for most gigs.

lol I had to say that.

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Definitely way too loud, one session with that I would be using hearing aids for the rest of my life or even worse not being able to use them to help hear.

However, you can obtain major improvements in low-end chunk and overall volume if you run your Classic 30 through a 16x12 cabinet.

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Now thats one pointless amp...

Re: The loudest tube guitar amp on earth....

Well if you're playing an arena without a house PA system it might be of some use.
