Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you could wire a push/pull pot or a switch to put the middle and neck pickups in series with each other... I've done this on my strat, but with the middle and bridge pickups. It makes it warmer and louder IMO, but wont sound like a true alnico 2 humbucker. If you're using A5 single coils, you'll probably have a hard time getting an A2 humbucker sound out of it... and using A2 single coils will get rid of that vintage, glassy single coil tone and warm it up and give it more midrange.

Yes, it is totally possible. How do I know? I own just that. It's a double fat strat that I refinished myself. I have a CC in the bridge, and an APH in the neck. Blocked the trem to get a more stable, thicker sound. This guitar sounds as close to the tone of a Lester as I think you can get from a strat.

Click on my sound clips down in my sig. Listen to Heavens Door, it's a cover of the GNR cover (LOL). The CC did all the distorted rythym clips, and the APH did the clean tones and lead. I think the guitar tone is very good.

PGb in the neck and CC in the bridge works for me.

i never use the bridge only ever the neck, what do u guys think a cc would sound like in the neck, cuz in the bridge it seemed a bit too trebley to me.

although i did like the aph in the neck, whats it sound like distorted?
what did u use to block the trem?
just to make sure ur using the aph humbucker right?

i was thinking of a cool rail in the neck befor ur inputs.

benjy, what dose the pg sound like, for a slash like thing ie. heavens door

thanks

PS <-(lol) is there nething that can get me close to the rythm of sweet child of mine, thats izzy dose. i just thaught of that. thnaks

did hendrix use a diff geet or pups for red house, cuz he has a really nice blues tone in that too?
