The MetalliTele

I know I should be finishing my FrankenStrat, but...

I just pasted this together tonight with Kisekae and photoshop. Maybe this'll be my next project after my humbucker Strat, and my 2nd Esquire. Might be a fun guitar. I kind of like how the reverse hockey stick works with the Tele body..

Re: The MetalliTele

Super Teles look a lot cooler than Super Strats, but that's probably just because they haven't been done to death yet.

I hate Floyd Rose but if it was bright orange i'd rock it.

Re: The MetalliTele

That's definitely a cool project there!

Reminds me of Kee Marcello's Supertele.

Re: The MetalliTele

looks like Mick Mars' Kramers

Oh man, you're right! I like it though. What kind of pickup ya gonna slap in'err?

I hate to admit, I'm having to look up who the guys mentioned in this thread are!

Aside from getting his peghead backwards, I kind of like what Mick Mars did. I couldn't decide what color to do the pasteup in, so I just grabbed a red from Kisekae's website. I like his mirrored thing.

I just spent about 3 hours yesterday looking for a DiMarzio Super 3 that I knew I had somewhere for my FrankenStrat. I think I'm out of high powered zebra pickups now. I think the Super 3'll give me more mids. I had to call up DiMarzio and pay full price for that one because nobody was carrying them.

The Floyd just seemed appropriate. I've never actually used one though

I'm a bit unclear how to install a Floyd Rose, but I guess if I buy a body and neck all set up for one, it can't be all that difficult.

But I guess I finally figured out why Wolfgangs have the trussrod adjustment at the neck's heel. I bet that locking nut blocks the trussrod adjustment at the peghead! That always baffled me for some reason.

Re: The MetalliTele

Depends, some necks have it at the peg head and the FR nut is arched so as that it's not blocked, I think. Where are you with the Frankenstrat?

Re: The MetalliTele

That looks a lot like a build I've had planned for a long time...

I hope you do it. Looks awesome.

I have to investigate the nut situation. I was looking at the Warmoth illustrations, and I'm still not sure how things'll work. I'm more likely to go with USACG though.

The control plate assembly is all wired up. I'm using the kind of single conductor braided cable Duncan uses on the '59 to go over to the jack. I just had wires before.

I'm about to swap the Super Distortion that's in it now, for the Super 3 that I mentioned earlier.

I'd rather think about these things than actually do the work. So it takes me a long time to get anything done.

I was kind of hoping someone else would do it! I don't have any realistic reason for a MetalliTele, but I was looking at my half finished humbucker Strat yesterday thinking.... I'm really more of a Tele guy.
