Any of the pointy ones really. You immediately think 'metal' when you see one, because guitarists in other genres wouldn't be caught dead playing such ridiculous-looking instruments. :laugh2: And I think they usually come with a case, strap, the obligatory black t-shirt, and a coupon for a free tatoo...

A metal guitar cannot have PAF's or a natural burst fiish. Most classic rock maybe BTMN ..maybe. Heres ya Metal right in yer face folks;

^ Guys stills sticking stock Les Pauls, Explorers and Sg's in with the real dedicated metal machines. You guys just don't get it, and I guess you never will.
A dedicated modern metal machine not only has to have a Floyd, and a 16 inch radius, but it has to look the part. Not like something Foghat played in '69 for eff's sake.
I'm sure someones gonna say stock Tele next..Pshhhh

Perhaps I was a bit too hasty. These could be construed as being 'metal", despite the fact its a classic design.
Note they also have high output metal pickups.

The old Washburn Stealth I had I think qualifies!

This one however is the best true metal beast guitar I have ever owned :fing2:
Plays like a dream is super light and will take your head off!

Actually I toured with a nationally charting Christian Country band playing a pearl White Hockey stick headstock 1988 Carviin V220T for a while:fing2:.

These guys. David hired me on to replace the guitarist in the vid here for a while and I played mostly Carvin V and X220 "pointies" or Bolts on stage.

Is that the Phil Demmel signature Jackson? I remember him showing it off backstage to us at a festival, before Jackson had released it I believe. We offered him a beer but he didn't take it!

Pure metal

I reject the idea that V's and Explorers all look metal I think the look of the guy playing the instrument has as big
an impact as the guitar when you are talking many instruments. Yeah stupid looking guitars like the overly angular
seen in this thread instruments look metal but the classic 50's weird shapes do not unless the guy playing it is wearing
his best every day is halloween garb.
