The neighbors have been complaining. Here's what I had to do.

B Bent

Vibroluxologist
I have been wanting one of these for quite some time so I finally bit the bullet. I just KNEW that I was going to win the auction on a Silvertone 1482, but some fool outbid me and IMO paid wayyyy to much for a 1482. So for the same amount of money I went and found this amp.

So far just doing a quick date scan on the pots it lies between late 73 and 74. Some of the pots indicate each year. It is all original and in absolutely standout condition. It even appears to have the original glass and speaker. I got a decent deal on it because of one dinky repair it needs that I plan on doing myself. So as luck would have it I ended up with this beautiful little 73-74 Vibro Champ.

It should help with the visits I have been getting by the new neighbors :-(.

Enjoy:

:( just when I started to like you :(

**** Europe...

Re: The neighbors have been complaining. Here's what I had to do.

I'm jealous :D

A vibro champ is one of those amps I reaaaally want to get some day. But in Europe either they don't exist or they cost upwards of 800 bucks in general.

But one day I'll BF a SF Super or DeluxeR... I will... :D

Are you going to mod this one at all? The turretboards make it just so easy...:D

Re: The neighbors have been complaining. Here's what I had to do.

No mods planned. This may be a good place to think of trying some maintainence, but I don't really want to mod an old Fender that as immaculate as this one.

Re: The neighbors have been complaining. Here's what I had to do.

What no Silvertone? :) I thought you had one on the way. How much did it end up going for?

Dude I was SO confident that I had won the auction that I laughed out loud for the poor fool who ended up outbidding me. Call it overconfident or counting your eggs before they hatch. I had a max bid of $300 on the 1482 I would I have almost bet my Vibrolux that I would have won. Keep in mind it was a non tax exempt auction and shipping was $45. I am kind of glad I lost the auction because it would have been foolish to spend that on a Silvertone when I could have had a vintage Fender.

Re: The neighbors have been complaining. Here's what I had to do.

I love the silverface Vibro Champs. I'd way rather have that than the Silvertone personally. Good score!

Sweet!

I obsess about those things regularly!!!!!

Re: The neighbors have been complaining. Here's what I had to do.

that little amp is still loud enough to get into plenty of trouble with the neighbors :)

Looks like a killer amp. Congrats!

Yeah, usually you end up with a single ender by the time you finally please the neighbours.

Great amp though. Enjoy!

New neighbors? You'd better get them trained, or they're gonna be a thorn in your side for as long as you live there.

Either work out a schedule, or let them know you're a crazy SOB. Either way, they gotta know that they aren't making the rules.

By the way, I just fixed my friend's Vibrochamp just like that one. All it needed was new tube sockets.

Great amps. Of the three amps I own, my Vibro Champ is the one I probably will never part with. Didn't even know it was what I was looking for until I traded for it on a whim.

They don't make them like this any more. At least, not at this price point.

Don't you love new neighbors who move in and then dictate to you how your going to live, contrary to the fact you were there before/way before them.
Personally they need to learn to fit in.Compromise seems to be a foreign word to them.
