The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay (New Videos Added!)

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Thanks Mincer. I just got a call from PMT Nottingham, to let me know the pedal is expected to reach them end of July... I see old news travels fast! I already knew this, having twice spoken to Rosetti in June. I think I've been tortured enough.

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Well, no one is saying that, but it wouldn't be a terrible problem.

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

It is showing up as in stock from Sweetwater, American Musical, and Musicians Friend.

I'm in the UK. Pre-ordered through PMT (yeah, I know, poor choice of acronym!) Nottingham. UK distributor is Rosetti. Hot Rox UK are also after this pedal. My Strymon Zuma is starting to give me bad looks!

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Well it is shipping, and arriving at many places, so hopefully it will arrive at your dealer soon (and there are no hang-ups from importing them into the UK).

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

I'm told its arriving this week, though no definite date has been confirmed. Fingers crossed..

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

ITS HERE...

Two concerns - the DC jack sparks when inserting a cable, yet the unit still powers up and works.. and the other is that the update app isn't seeing my pedal. Am I missing a driver?

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Well, those are legit concerns there...so you are saying when plugging in an audio cable, the DC jack sparks? Or when plugging in the adapter cable? From what I understand (and I don't have one here), once the software is installed, it should sense the pedal. Are you able to try it on another computer?

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Installed it on a Windows 8 laptop, but same lack of response. However, I then went to control panel > hardware and sound > I see Andromeda with a warning of driver is unavailable hazard icon. Funny how the installer won't run until I connect Andromeda via USB, then does run when I connect it. So the laptop/installer obviously recognizes it. When I open the updater, its no different from when I installed the updater app (using .pkg file) on the MacBook. It just sits there searching forever for the Andromeda.

So I plug the Andromeda back into the MackBook, this time via a USB hub (expecting a worse result), run the updater, and the bloody thing shows a list of presets! :approve: Who says USB hubs are not supported?!

I really wanted to grab that whales preset I saw on the demo video. Its the reason I bought the pedal in the first place. It isn't on mine :(. 13A is a completely different preset altogether . Unfortunately, the update button in the updater is greyed out. Where the hell are the video presets?

The sparking only occurred when I was plugging a cable from my Strymon Zuma to the Andromeda. It made no difference whether I use a 9v/500ma or 18v/250ma setting on the Zuma. I haven't since tried to connect/disconnect power between Andromeda and Zuma.

P.S: What are those red stickers for? :boggled:

I will see if I can get someone in this thread that worked on that stuff for you. If you'd like, you can PM me your name/email and I can direct it to the right person.

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Some quick answers I was able to get from Arwin....Riley will probably stop by this thread to answer some of the software/preset concerns.

1. The red stickers are for marking your favorite settings.
2. In terms of the spark my advice would be to have the pedal plugged in before turning on your power supply, plugging/unplugging the live power supply is probably at the cause of that issue.

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Thanks Mincer. Already figured out the sparking, though I was concerned that my TC pedal doesn't spark when plugging in a live power supply.

Unfortunately the Nok Novum video was created too late for us to add their presets to the firmware for units that are shipping now. I'm working on getting the presets from the video, we will probably include them in the next update - in the meantime I will see about posting them somewhere for download.

If you have any further concerns about the power supply or the USB connectivity shoot me a PM with your email address and we can walk through it.

Hope you're enjoying the pedal otherwise!

Re: The new Andromeda Dynamic Delay

Anybody who wants to try out the Nok Novum presets can now download them here.

To add them to your preset library you will need to copy paste them into the user directory folder for Andromeda. If you’re using a PC the path should look something like this:

C:\Users\YourName\SeymourDuncan\Andromeda

Once the presets are stored in that folder they will show up in the ‘On Computer’ column in the Andromeda Updater. From there you can drag and drop them onto Andromeda.
