The next modern classic guitar shape?

Re: The next modern classic guitar shape?

While they may not ever achieve the same status as a Strat or Les Paul, I've always thought that the Wolfgang achieved a cult status in the guitar world.

It's got an attractive and ergonomic body, a big name to back it, and it has its share of unique appointments (hotter neck than bridge without mud, a unique neck profile, a uniquely small body, and a D-Tuna as standard). I also like the Ernie Ball Axis, with its 4x2 headstock, 5 way switching, and slightly different body design.

As far as the PRS goes, many major guitar companies have copied that formula by now.

I know it wasn’t popular but I was a fan of the Gibson Modern double cut.

Re: The next modern classic guitar shape?

I think certain guitars were hurt by the fact that they kind of sucked. The offset Fenders for example typically had funky vibrato systems that didn’t stay in tune, so people learned to hate them.
Good point! I forgot about the weird wiring and pain in the butt vibrato. The ones they sell now with humbuckers and a tom bridge really appeal to me - maybe they will catch on more this time around?

With the Corvus, I wonder how they realized they were 'done' designing it. Like at some point, they said, "No, don't take off any more...it is PERFECT!'.
