Well, here is the latest section of the big prog piece. Enjoy!



Almost too much going on to break down:

Rhythm guitars are Tele Thinline/Beano Boost/Champster
'War' section is Tele Thinline/BB Preamp/Studio 2
Funk section is Strat/Beano Boost/Champster on the right; Strat/SunFace/Champster on the left
First lead guitar is Tele Thinline/Beano Boost/Champster
All other leads are Strat/Beano Boost or Strat/SunFace/Mooer Chorus/ Champster

Slide is a custom built lap steel by WezV in the UK; Thunderbird pickup

Speaker is a Weber 12A125A w Shure SM57 off axis
Mic pre is the Focusrite Saffire 18i20

Bass guitar is a Silvertone bass/Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver/Pigtronix Philosopher's tone

All analog synths are Dave Smith MOPHO

Wulitzer/horns/piano are Halion synth

Harpsichord is Samplebase Scarlatti sampled harpsichord from the 1780s

Violin and Cello are EasWest Symphonic Orchestra samples

Mellotron is MTron sampled from original Mellotron tapes

trippy! really like the snare stuff and the solos around 9-10 min. not sure how you remember all that stuff!

Believe it or not, this stuff is largely improvisational/ written as we go. Then we try a couple of passes to make sure we remember the basic structure, and then a couple/few passes, recording it live (no comping!)

The basic tracks were written and recorded in 3 hours. I then spent 2 weeks building the arrangement with overdubs and solos.

I hope you dug the guitar tones, there are a couple that I really like. (Though I am pretty much convinced at this point that the SM57 is not the best match for the Weber)
