The Rack Is Done!

Well, after a few months of research on which components would work best for my application… and a few more months of putting it all together one little rack unit at a time, it’s finally done. I’m really happy with the tones and how it all works together. Now I just need some roadies to lug the damn thing… lol!

Yeah...looks good. But what's that gotta weigh? 80lbs? And no fair only showing the front. Gear heads like us wanna see around the back and see how neat your wiring job is. :)

Enjoy.

Re: The Rack Is Done!

For the most part the wiring is tidy. However, there are a few temp patches while I'm waiting for the cable I ordered to come in- so I can do it as clean as I want it.

Re: The Rack Is Done!

go for the Behringer pedal- it is a lot 'smarter' than the Rocktron, and can control a lot more. It is also pretty cheap.

Re: The Rack Is Done!

Can a Mark IV be controlled via MIDI, etc?

Oh, and I hate to be a pest here, but you forgot to add a coffee maker / espresso machine to your rack.

Sort of. It has a series of 1/4 insert jacks on the back. The G*Major has a footswitch function on it that will allow you to controll the channel switching on the Mark IV.

The Coffee maker is attached on the back of the rack. :)

Re: The Rack Is Done!

That is awesome!

I am kinda a noob - I understand the rest of the rack for the most part, but wonder what the reasoning is for having both:

1) Lexicon MPX 200
2) T.C. Electronic G*Major

Does this allow for more combinations of effects? Oh, and where is the beer cupholder?

Re: The Rack Is Done!

The Lexicon is a backup unit. It's main function is to sit and look pretty as long as the G*Major is healthy.

The Beer holder is clamped to my mic stand. Going back to the amp takes too long. ;)

Re: The Rack Is Done!

Looks nice. In the early 90's, I had a rig that looked just like it, only it was a Marshall JMP-1/Mesa 295/Quadraverb/Mesa SUS-16 rack/Marshall stereo 4-12.
I loved the versatility and sound, but I nearly killed myself lugging it to rehearsals and gigs. I'd cry inside anytime I showed up at a club with flights of stairs! LOL

They look so great in those big shockmounted racks, but if it ever becomes a hassle, just move the essentials over to a SKB 8 or 10 space rack, and it'll be a lot easier to move around.

Re: The Rack Is Done!

I have no clue what 80% of that rack does.. but I'm going to be the first to say (and get put on someone's ignore list for).

Its not often I get to say this but..

Nice Rack, dude.

..

Im still amp tastic.. amp to guitar. No shiny effects or racks or whatever.

Re: The Rack Is Done!

It's actually a very simple setup. Instead of carrying around my amp and a massive pedalboard, I decided to rack the amp and used effects processors. This setup has dramatically cut down my load unload time. I know where everything is at all times. I still plug my guitar strait into the amp. I’ve just made use of the FX loop.

Hey how much difference did that power conditioner make? Are they worth it, in your opinion? All I have is '72 Fender twin reverb and boss me-50, but I've always wondered.

Re: The Rack Is Done!

The Furman is worth it's weight in gold as far as I'm concerned. It takes alot of the "what's wrong with my tone" out of the equation.
