The redundant " recommend me some tuners" thread

I'm needin some new machine heads for my strat. The old, Kluson button tuners just suck. Please give me some choices on replacements. I'd like to not add any additional mounting holes, but I have no reservations about opening up the peghead holes to accomodate a modern-style tuning machine. Thanks for any advice.

I like the Schaller and Grover locking tuners. For a Strat, I would go with the staggered height Schallers. The Grovers are a bit taller, so you might have some issues with string pressure over the nut on a guitar without an angled headstock.

+1 Schallers are the best tuners I have ever used.
