Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

There was an excellent review of that in last months GP. You should post a link.

oh right, so it's the Seymour's guitar... at $6,250 ??? no thanks.

Not trying to bash or anything, but have they ever posted a bad review of anything?

That ruby/red coloured tele looks fantastic though!

Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

Wow, I like that red one even more than the amber. It's too rich for my blood, but it makes me want to build a regular SS tele in that combination. Deep red on ash looks great.

I looooove transparent red on ash. That's why I want a G&L Legacy in that finish as my next guitar.

SEYMOUR DUNCAN 35 LIMITED EDITION GUITAR - Anyone end up with this guitar or at least enjoy playing it by chance?
I don't see this model for sale anywhere. Must have turned out exceptionally good with no owners willing or interested in parting with this guitar just yet. If someone has one and is interested in selling it, please let me know! Thanks.....

Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

Did I ever tell you about the time I knocked Seymour's 35th Ann. tele onto the ground?

It was at the 2011 User Group Day jam, when someone leaned Seymour's guitar against the back wall, behind the drums. I was walking around hooking up amps, and my foot caught it's cable. I turned around and saw it falling toward the floor tom stand. It was like slo-mo, seeing it fall toward a metal stand. I can't remember if someone knocked it out of it's path, or if it miraculously landed on the carpet, but it hit the carpet.

I picked it up, with a sick feeling that I F'ed up Seymour's 35th Ann TeleGib, rubbed the neck, and checked the body.....nothing! I was so relieved that it hit the carpet with no damage at all.

Another guy wasn't so lucky. Seymour told us the story about a guy who was handling his #1 PAF or P-90 Seth Lover gave him. The guy dropped it and broke it. I'm glad I wasn't that guy! LOL

Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

Its a very limited edition - Why not build a tele with humbuckers and a Gibson bridge assembly?

I felt really bad for the guy. The pickup was on display at the Museum of Making Music which had an exhibit all about Seymour Duncan, the Man. When the exhibit was over, the guy was packing up the stuff to return to Seymour and he dropped the pickup and cracked the mounting ring which was made out of a milled-out black P-90 "dog ear" cover. That's what broke. The guy called me immediately after it happened and he was literally sick with regret. Honestly, Seymour wasn't even that upset. But I think the guy took it really hard.

You do know how much they cost new, don't you? I bet they're 50% higher to buy one now that they're all gone.

*facepalm*

Mastadons are not dinosaurs. -_- Dinosaurs weren't alive 35,000 years ago... I just had to stop watching the video at that comment.

They don't appear to be for sale anywhere by anyone, so can imagine whomever invested in one early on received a great return on investment and probably some great playing moments.

Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

Well if only 35 were ever made, then of course you aren't just going to find one on ebay any given day of the week. With that kind of a limited release you would need to keep your eyes open for a few years and be prepared to pounce (with cash) when one comes up for sale.

Seriously, I've been looking for a nice specimen of certain guitar models that were produced by the thousands, and yet they only come up for sale every few months or so.

Thanks......what type/model if any would SD release one day in the future, if ever/anything?

Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

Well in a few more years they should be releasing the SD 40th. It seems that Seymour himself is a Telecaster man, so that would be a safe bet.

Re: The Seymour Duncan 35 Guitar Available NOW

I saw Seymour today when I went to my SD office and he was just walking out. He said, "Ev, I want to show you something I just put together." It was a red TeleGib with a super lightweight one-piece ash body with the same contours as the SD 35.
