If I didn't want the middle, I would consider doing a Robbie Robertson guard and have some additional sounds that aren't the middle.

I wouldn't call Fender single-coils excellent. Every time I've tried them I've ripped them out and replaced them with Duncans or Kleins or Fralins. I know there are a lot of guitarists that are happy with the way they sound, but they sound kinda flat and dead to me.

Well, these days, there are just better choices out there.

Well, there are only a handful available, and so far, I haven't read that anyone on this forum has tried them. If I had a Strat that needed pickups, I'd get them, as Stormbringer is one of my favorite albums ever.

Will do, but it will take a couple of weeks as I have not received all Strat parts yet (Franken-Strat project). But I will check back in as soon as the guitar is done

Awesome, thank you! As I said, the album Stormbringer is one of my favorites. Ritchie's tone on that was a little different than before or after.
