Ok, so I'm browsing some amps online, and come across a particular review. Within the description, it stated a blurb of the following...

"Today, Matamp is enjoying a well-deserved renaissance, as well as building arguably the world's maddest one-offs (a 10,000-watt head powered by no less than 250 EL34s is currently on the drawing board!). The company has a new custom range that offers a variety of bang-up-to-date features without compromising the pure tone and retro looks unique to this brand. "

all I can say is WOW. I'm sure it's just for the ability to say "yeah, we did it", cause I couldn't imagine anyone seriously being able to use one, unless it was some kind of PA system. Although, Matamp has been known to make absolutely rediculous custom amps and cabs.

I went to a show recently, and the bass player had a custom Matamp 6x18 cab...and a seperate 15" cab just to keep his stack of heads at eye level.

Yeah i saw this in a review from guitarist magazine in the UK! just wandering what cabs could be used with it...

With the failure ratio of tubes in an amp with over 250 tubes, it'll be like a string of Christmas lights with bulbs always burning out.

I just want the amp so I can be like Nigel on crack. This one goes to One Billion. :laugh2:

I have a feeling it'll melt the earplugs right outta your ears!

i heard a 68 Super Lead that was frickin loud as hell.......a good deal louder than my 100 watt Hiwatt hear, which are amongst the loudest also

Holy Diggeriedoo...

To actually test it they'd have to bring it to some desert and have a good 100 or soo cabs...

Not to mention a portable power station..

Hmm...why does this make me think of the face melting scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark? :D Man was not meant to wield such power!

That lead from the guitar to the amp will have to be pretty long otherwise it will blow you away!!

I remember the opening scene in Back to the Future Part 1 where Marty plugs in the guitar and turns up the volume dial on the amp and then just lets rip - that was a great opening to the film.

I reckon with that amp you'd get blown back like Michael J. Fox at the beginning of "Back To The Future".

I just had a thought. Matamp solved the problem of 'what amp to use the worlds biggest guitar with. Image Duncan's HUMONGOUS JB plugged into the amp that 'goes to one billion!'

Reminds me of that thread about arena rigs a few weeks ago. I want 10 of these Matamps !!!!!! And 500 cabs!!!!!! YEAH!

Bloody hell.

If you had a world tour, load up the gear in your back yard and just play... they'll hear you from tokyo to LA... the long way round.

Save some money on travel expenses.

As it currently stands the single loudest amp made, was believe it or not a Peavey VTA800...running 8 6550's..thus insuring the last thing you ever heard was a crappy Peavey.... :smack:

but im not sure though, seeing as his new amps go to infinity! :D

and JOLLY about the back to the future thing, it may even fling back............... "into the future"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shock:
