I suppose my question is not related to neck pickups but more about output overall. Would this be useful in anything besides the brutalest of metal? It seems really cool but if I can't use it I'd probably opt for an Alt-8 or Crazy 8 or something in the high output but multi-genera range

It's really thick and dark but has enough clarity for big chords to retain note definition. It sounds like you would be happier with a Pegasus or Alt-8.

Cool thanks scott... if I fall into some money I'll absolutely get together a Doom only guitar and load it up with these BAMF's. Was thinking warpigs but at this point, holy jeebus, I think the decision was made for me

It is cool for Black Sabbath and I find I like it for some stuff it probably was not designed for. I actually like it clean, but that is probably not normal. It can have a smooth character as well.

They smoke the warpigs IMO. And I own both.
