The Strat Project Begins! Finally!

Well after about 3 months, my custom strat body is going to ship out tomorrow! It's a 2pc. Poplar body. A little thicker than avg. at just under 2" thick w/ a sharper body radius more like a tele but not quite that sharp.

The plan is to finish it w/ Black Nitro and a pearl clearcoat. The neck I'm using is maple w/ a maple fret board similar to the one it the pic. That is the actual bridge and pickguard I'm using. All Black hardware. I'm going to give the new Bill Lawrence Keystone signature singles a shot first in it w/ a near standard strat control setup.

***ATTENTION DO NOT ADJUST YOUR PICTURE, IT'S NOT BACKWARDS!!!***

Well at least to me it's not :smack:

Re: The Strat Project Begins! Finally!

Looks cool. What is that pickguard made out of? Some sort of chemically treated metal? Something you made? Looks sweet.

Re: The Strat Project Begins! Finally!

that is a black paisley pickguard, rather standard :) just gotta know where to find them

I like it...Let me ask you this...where did you get a body that's thicker than normal?

Looks good bro, keep us posted!

I know a couple guys that make bodies. So when I'm not buying Kramer parts and I want to assemble something else. I have them make the bodies for me.

This is correct. I bought this one through WD and it cost me a small fortune. It was almost $100 for the guard and matching back plate. Terrapin has the same material for alot cheaper.

Actually, I would like to see it in reverse. I think a black background w/ silver paisley would look cool!
