The Tweed Pro is FINALLY complete!

Re: The Tweed Pro is FINALLY complete!

Oh, it's got decent bass response, nice and tight, but I've got a weber beam blocker that I'm going to install in a few days. That should tame the direct highs a bit.

IF I WERE YOU, I'd sell those to JBLs as dead frames. I've seen pairs of them go for 150 bucks. THen I'd take that money and go out and get two Emi Texas Heats for that Bassman of yours. I'm telling you, those speakers are great for 60's blackface amps. If you lived nearby, I'd tell you to come over and plug the head into my Pro Reverb. You'll end up with new speakers that kill and you'll pocket 50 bucks in the process. !!! But, no one listens to me.

If I can't get a grip on this speaker, gotta let it break in a bit, I'll probably have to sell it and try something else. Maybe one of those new Emi Big Bens. :)

Re: The Tweed Pro is FINALLY complete!

I have been wondering how JBLs would sound in my PR. A couple of my favorite players were JBL guys so I'm really tempted to check it out. I have been considering the Calis as well.

I put Emi Texas Heats in my PR and I've not looked back.

Yeah, those do look great.

Great job Scott!

Having a new amp around is really exciting, even more when you built it yourself! Those kits looks really awesome. Might get one someday.

Cant wait to start my 2nd project : 1959SLP :) ... next month!

Re: The Tweed Pro is FINALLY complete!

what's the headroom like on the texas heats? I'm big on the 15'' speakers, so i wont give up on them too easily. Especially since i got both frames for free!
