Re: The Ultimate Eric Clapton Bluesbreaker Tone Thread

A real '51?!
Yep. All of my guitars and amps are real. :cool2: So am I! :lmao:

My brother Bruce (http://missionamps.com) made Christian (The Guy Who Invented Fire) a clone of my '51 Super. It's a killer amp. Billy Gibbons has about twenty of them! I saw a photo of him standing in front of a whole wall of them. The Dual professional is the same amp as the Super. I guess they renamed it the Super in '51.

THATS RIGHT!!!

The V Front that Brice has become one of 2 of my favorite amps ever!

Lew, you'll get a kick out of this...for about a year now I've been running my Mission Super clone in stereo with my brown Deluxe I got from you...what a sound!!!

Anyway, interesting note aobut the late 40's Dual Pro's and the V Front Supers...Leo names the amp Dual Professional simply because he had a bunch of metal name tags left over from a Lap Steel they called Dual Professional...once they used up the Dual Professional name tags the amp got renamed Super Amp...that was sometime in 1950 best I can tell.

Billy G has loads of both the Dual Pro's and the Supers as well as several custom built amps that look like old V Front Supers.

Anyway...back to Bluesbreaker tone!

One of the best sounds I got playing live in recent years was a gig I did at Unity of Boulder. I brought my tweed Super and tweed Deluxe and played in stereo using the outputs of a Boss stereo digital delay to split the signal. Like you said: what a sound!

So, you still have one 50's P10R and one 60's C10N in the Super right...and a Celestion Blue in the Deluxe???

That's my favorite speaker set in that amp - as you know. :cool2: I plugged in a couple of weeks ago and the C10N was buzzing. Fortunately I have a couple more that TedWeber reconed for me. But I'll need to get the one in my '51 Super reconed now. I'm debating where to send it. Orange County Speaker did a great job reconing my G1265 so I'm thinking of using them next time.
