Carvin DC127. Neck through, dual humbucker, 24 frets, sculpted neck heel, original Floyd Rose.
Carvin PERIOD!
Because you can stock them any way you want with thier list of options.
At a price that's comfortable to the wallet.
But, back to the point.
Most shred guitars formula as mentioned.
24 fret neck.
Jumbo frets.
Easy access to the 24th fret.
Sculpted heel(bolt on)or no heel(neck thru).
Floyd Rose with lock nut.
H/H or S/S/H pickup config. H/S/H is good too.
Flat fretboard radius usually 14 or 15.Some prefer the contoured 12-15 radius.
Body shape is up to you. As long as it fits the bill above.
Any guitar can be shred on. But, for the things that are most common in shred playing these suggestions help to make that playing easier and more comfortable.
Shredding on the upper frets of a LP is a bear. Unless you got really really long fingers or large hands so the heel doesn't hinder your playing.
I love my LP style guitars too. But, I do play on them differently than I do on my Carvins.
