Fender HM strat - Gotta be pink to be the ultimate shred guitar.
Stock dimarzio humbucker, they came in a few different pick-up combinations such as single humbucker, H/S, H/S/S....
My favorite is the single humbucker model
24 frets, Kahler tremelo, humbucker spliting switch
and offered in PINK!

Have to agree with this one. I almost bought a pink/maple HM strat new back in the day, and went with an ibanez RG 560 instead. I'd love to get hold of a maple-neck HM strat for old-times sake.
My RG was a pretty good shredder: basswood body, super thin maple neck, floating floyd, SD hot rails in the neck and JB in the bridge. Super hip at the time. There's no way I could deal with that neck now, though.
As for ultimate, I'd go for a basswood-backed Anderson Drop Top, Drop Top Classic, or Pro-Am:

any guitar will work for shred, and as far as frets are concerned the more merrier! I know you shredders ouit theer are dreaming every night of a 34 fret axe! haha
