I installed an Antiquity II Surfer in the neck position of my Godin LGT last night and all I have to say is...WOW! :laugh2: :laugh2: This pickup is hands down the best strat pickup I've played. It's chimey, sweet, smooth, sounds great both clean and under mild to moderate overdrive...everything I could ever want in a strat pickup. It also has this "mojo" about it that I haven't heard in any of the other single-coil pickups I've tried in this guitar (fender texas special, aps-2). It's hard to explain, but it's just more complex sounding with a certain "air" around the notes.
I guess the only downside is that the Duncan Custom I have in the bridge completely overpowers the Surfer, although it's a great pickup in itself. Perhaps a lower output pickup like the 59' or Alcino II Pro would balance better?
Thanks everybody for all your help, especially Lew for his great advice and who ultimately sold me the pickup!
