The Vox 'top Boost' -what is it ?

Is the Vox 'top boost' which first appeared on the AC models in the 60s, just Vox speak for gain or overdrive? overdrive with more emphasis on the treble. I notice some of their recent hand wired models inc. things like the AC4 , also claim to incorporate Top Boost in the circuit. Whether it's there, I don't know. I guess you need to have personal experience of a genuine AC30 ..

I have an AC30 with top boost, great overdrive sounds and perfect for capturing early Zeppelin and Sabbath. I push it with a stomp for more modern metal tones. However it is one of my favorite amps to play with no stomps, and crank

Interesting..but they put 'top boost' on newer models like the AC4 & AC10 C1 ...I'm not sure if it's the same as the vintage T/B

It's the Vox version of a Gibson bass / treble tone stack. Vox didn't have a proper tone circuit in the late 50's/early 60's. Now they put it on everything.
