The wait begins.

Re: The wait begins.

Bought a heavy cab , what did you think you had done ? You are young and you have a truck , use a dolly if you want some help. Try lugging 3 4x12 stacks a huge rack setup and 4 or 5 guitars nightly , that will make you hate yourself at 3 am trust me.

Re: The wait begins.

No man, Boogie 1x12 with an EV speaker, haha.

86 is heavy for a 2x12 I suppose. Nevermind that though, just think about the coolness.

Ah, I'm smellin what you're steppin in now. My bad, I was at work and just saw the "EV" forums have traumatized me...

Re: The wait begins.

Don't think it's some weird thiele-ported Showman sized Frankenstein, do you? I've seen online bass cab designs I've been thinkin' about that are 2 speakers and really big...

Re: The wait begins.

I had a 90 pound bass cab 5 years ago, and lived on the second floor. it was horrible, I sold it! too heavy.

Re: The wait begins.

No way, the 2x12 halfback I just sold with the EVM in the bottom wasn't more than 60. I can see your cab being 35-40, but no way it's even close to 80.

I was exhaggerating a bit, but that can't be right on that boogie cab. The boogie halfback 4x12 I had years ago was the heaviest cab I've ever dealt with, 8x10 Ampegs, 2x15's, etc. It had to be 150.

Re: The wait begins.

I'm guessing Nial made all the wood at least one size thicker all over. If he was building a Showman style cab and using 7/8 instead of 3/4 plywood, you're already adding what...12% more wood on every inch of the thing. A closed back is more on top of it. Porting is even more. Good speakers weigh a bunch. I can understand it.

I'm starting to think its something along the lines of a 2x15 like we discussed a while back. 4 more days and we'll know for sure...hopefully.

Re: The wait begins.

so, what... you just said "Hey I want a cab and I have $x" and he said "Oh okay cool I'll surprise you!"

like are you seriously awaiting delivery on a mystery cab... or is this just a joke I'm too sleepy to get...

Nah. I said "Hey, I want a cab that you guys don't make. Can I get an oversized 2x12?" And Nial was all like "Yeah."

I was expecting something like a ppc212 but he built me a bomb shelter. Nial is ****in' awesome.

Re: The wait begins.

Overbuilt sh1t is awesome.

You just need to recruit an army of gnomes to carry it for you
