We seem to have similar tastes in music and yet we've never had much forum dialogue with each other, what's up with that?

Whats a good way to EQ my band?

im going with the mids on 5 and my lead player has em on 10.

good?

Use your ears, not your eyes.

Do you believe any modern "emo" bands are actually comprised of good musicians that just play trendy music?

Absolutely. Furthermore, i think some modern emo bands are comprised of good musicians who think emo is good music. You can be good and skilled with music and still lack taste...

Do you think pigs can be taught to play the guitar?

Could you teach folk-pop singer Meiko to strap on an electric and rock out?

http://lh5.ggpht.com/trustyourears/R-e3NJmJWzI/AAAAAAAAAEY/uZoXjBi1brU/Meiko+BW.JPG.jpg

Yeah I saw a band that was all cops one time, called Pigs in a Blanket. And I think Tattooed Carrot is a cop too so, of course they can play guitar.

Meiko looks like she's more interested in the Scripture than she is in rocking out. Her loss; i'll spend my time on girls with drug problems thank you very much.

Hey Empty! I have not been to the well lately, so let me see what we can pull up!

what's with the 2 year thing?

Re: The Well LXXXV (i guess?): How to Rock featuring Xee F. Face

Which guitar company do you think is most underrated?
Which company is less known than Fender and Gibson, but makes a product of similar quality?

Re: The Well LXXXV (i guess?): How to Rock featuring Xee F. Face

1) I think it was you that posted about setting your girlfreind's hair on fire moments before you lost your virginity...... can you share that story with us?

2) W/ all the punk I've heard you talk about, i don't remember seeing the Dead Kennedys mentioned....any love for them or Eastbay Ray?

3) What's your major in school?

4) Any travel aspirations?....to visit or live awhile?

Underrated? That's kind of a weird question. Most companies I know about do their version of the Gibson thing, their version of the Fender thing or their version of the Ibanez / Jackson modern guitar thing...then have them produced en masse in the same factories that Epiphones and Squiers and cheap Ibanez come from...so i'll just say First Act cuz I hear they have a cool custom shop.

As for less known and same quality...i'd say most of the underground companies i was referring to just now...making a guitar isn't rocket science, but the two big names kind of have it locked down. I do really like Heritage, Edwards / ESP and those other offbrands...

1) I dunno the forum rules about under-age drinking and drug use so I'm hesitant to go into detail...let's just say i was tryin to give her a light and she flipped her bangs forward and WOOSHH!!

had to smack her in the face with a pillow a few times...it didn't look that bad afterwards either...

2) I definitely love DK...East Bay Ray is cool but man have you heard Jello Biafra and the Melvins? It's like DK perfected.

3) Business. I just want to figure out how to get money to flow in my general direction.

4) I'm going to own / see the world one day. Hopefully most of outer space too.

nope ... i'll ckeck it out for sure.....was it released as "melvins" or something else?

....cool well so far btw.....

Re: The Well LXXXV (i guess?): How to Rock featuring Xee F. Face

There are two albums and the band is "Jello Biafra and the Melvins." Released in like 05ish? I could find you a torrent.

This would be the ultimate well if people would stop ignoring it! hahaha

Re: The Well LXXXV (i guess?): How to Rock featuring Xee F. Face

Nay. Not into the 'modern guitar' thing...tons of curly maple, EMGs, abalone...i mean they're not bad quality and they have a few good designs...defintely nice for the money but...i've always preferred Fender and Gibson to basically everything else.

Re: The Well LXXXV (i guess?): How to Rock featuring Xee F. Face

so if you like seafood and nice furniture you'd probably like them, then?

what about the set-neck hollowbody teles, seen those?
what are your thoughts on redesigns like he aerodyne tele and the lightened vs chambered vs full solid LPs etc?

with your fingers? the guitar, i mean

eastwood? electromatic?

1. No i like seafood and nice furniture. I jus don't like Schecters.

2. Redesigns are great for sure...there are millions of ways to make a great guitar...but i like nice solidbody Les Pauls and Telecasters with normal single coils...ES335's for semihollow tones... etc.

3. What? I mean...huh?

4. Never tried Eastwood, and Electromatics are spotty at best. I had to get one customer three replacements for his G6120 because each one had stupid problems right outta the box...

thanks, good info. i don't really like over-furnishing but thought i might like schecters

What are the perks of working at a music store?
Does the store throw out gear? (broken or otherwise?)

I remember reading a thread here some time ago about someone who went through a music store dumpster and found some stuff. JW.

Re: Q

Re: Q

I actually used to prefer treble to lowend when i was playing more punk and ska...in those types of bands i was either just doing the barre chord upstroke thing or the DS-1 Green Day kinda thing and had a bassist tryin to impersonate Matt Freeman the whole time so my guitar was more aimed at the high / high mids.

what kinda gear did you rock when you played this stuff? it's all i like to play these days:D

As you're 20 something, I guess you know everything?:bling:

This Amp range is older than you and one of the most popular made. A lot of people would/do use one of these with a "dirtier" amp as well. They still do.

Perks? Discounts, occasional freebies, connections, paychecks, first dibs on cool used stuff, and gettin to talk gear and music with gearheads and musicians all day every day.

When stuff breaks we usually finish breaking it and give the parts to the tech guy. I almost bought a epiphone dot that the head broke off of a few weeks ago but "cost" is still more than "free" for a broken guitar y'know?

The same stuff I use now except i didn't have my Gibsons back then. Strat -- DS-1 -- Bassman half stack...

Y'know, if it's not broke, why fix it? :smokin:

Never said I know everything, but I DO know what a ****ing Roland Jazz Chorus is. We have one in my shop and it sounds dull, lifeless and sterile. Great for an 80'sesque clean tone drenched in delay and reverb, bad if you like to sound good.

When I want a clean tone, i like a Fender Deluxe or possibly a Twin or something along those lines...something that has some kind of feel or response. That Roland is way too surgical for me.

So you're 50 something so you know everything right? Cuz this amp line is older than you are and tons of pros still love them:
1953-Fender-Pro-Amp-Tweed.jpg

and they don't sound like boring lifeless crap either

EDIT: Sorry if that response seemed kinda edgy / dickheaded. I'll try to stop posting on the forum before getting out of bed.
