Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen Warmoth Telecaster hurled at a 45-degree angle from your current home towards the birthplace of Oscar-winning Canadian actress Anna Paquin?

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

if u could play anywhere in the world with any guitar where and what would it be???

favorite food?

I'd probably want to play an acoustic set in a park with my friends. Not with my acoustic though, its horrible. I don't know much about acoustics but maybe a Martin.

The velocity depends on how hard its hurled.

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

So, how hard would you hurl it? Paquin just called; she wants to know when to expect her Telecaster.

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

Fair enough. If you were sending a new guitar to a budding player who'd never owned one before (as an act of charity, let's say), what would you send, and why?

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

A cheap acoustic, something good enough to hold tune but something that wouldn't need to be babied, would make them work at it to build up finger strength and that they wouldn't be afraid to let their friends play.

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

Who's your favorite jazz artist?

I don't have one. I've barely ever listened to jazz and have never really gotten in to it. If there was a bit more rock in jazz I could enjoy it probably, combine the energy and driving beat of rock with the interesting note choices of jazz.

What do you think about the old blues?

Have you tried Al DiMeola? Elegant Gypsy is a great place to start.

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Where would you like to live?

What is your greatest aspiration/dream?

What is your greatest fear/apprehension?

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

This spring I'll be graduating from Electrical Engineering, so its safe to say I'll be working as an Electrical Engineer.

I'll most likely stay in Winnipeg since my family is here. I have considered pursuing a job with HP or Intel in Costa Rica, as well as Australia seems to intrigue me for some reason.

My greatest aspiration is to get a Master's degree. If it weren't for the need to actually make some money finally I'd be doing it right away. As it stands I plan on working and saving up for 5 years, at which point my car will be paid off, then going back to school.

My greatest fear would probably be a head injury resulting in significant memory loss.

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

Weather wise I should add that there's usually snow for about 5 months although its only really cold for about 3 months. Usually in January there's a few weeks where it'll hover around -40. Interestingly enough its now almost the end of November, there's no snow and I have yet to even wear a jacket. I have no idea what's going on this year.

Very interesting post - thanks for telling me about where you live.

Oddly enough, it's been a relatively chilly fall for us. The idea of -40 degree temperature makes my balls wanna shrink inside my body, haha. I've never dealt with negative temperature before. One of my closest friends used to live in Alberta, and the Canadian winters he would tell me about genuinely freaked me out, haha.

Do you like living there? Are there any other places in the world you'd want to live in?

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

Are you a tone chaser, or do you just grab it out of the case and plug in?

How has you playing improved/worsened over the years?

What's your dream amp, effects, etc. rig?

Tell us about your "bucket list" (things you'd like to do before you die).

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

If you could spend one afternoon with a dead guy, who would it be?

I'm not sure, the first answer that pops in to my head is Hendrix but I'm not sure that would be safe at all. Unless of course the fact that he died from drugs turned him off them once he was reincarnated...

I do enjoy living here for the most part but the winters do ruin it a little. If I didn't have family here I probably wouldn't stay here and would leave for somewhere warmer like the west coast.

I used to be much more of a tone chaser but I felt it hurt my playing. I didn't have time to obsess over my rig and practice much so now I basically just plug in, tune and start playing.

My playing improved a lot last summer when I had time to play for a couple hours a day. I finally got in to shredding a bit this year when I started listening to Paul Gilbert.

My dream amp is probably a Mesa Rect-o-verb. As for effects I'm not sure, I don't tend to use any but I do enjoy a big muff and would probably get some use out of a phaser.

Bucket list: go skydiving, travel to England, beat Megaman 9, buy a house and have kids.

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

Where will you be when the big door swings open?

Re: The Well LXXXVIII: Bean Burrito

I have no idea what you mean.

No.

Sorry if I've been slow to respond, I came down with H1N1 yesterday and slept all afternoon and evening. I think I slept for about 13 of the last 17 hours.
