Re: The Well - Part XXVI: This Thread Is Closed Captioned for the Hearing Impaired..
Brief/detailed (your choice) history of listening preferences, gear preferences, and anything you've noticed technique-wise, along the way?
The first CD i bought that I actually liked most of/all of the songs on it was "Take of your pants and jacket" by none other then Blink-182 believe it or not!
It was the first time I heard music that wasn't any form of RnB or Rap which seemed to be popular at the time, Just wasn't/Isn't my thing.
It was really that CD that got me into wanting to play guitar, and strangely enough the day I got that CD was September 11th 2001.
Since then i've been listening to all Kids of music Bar most Rap and Rnb till I discovered Van Halen and Stevie Ray Vaughan, 2 of my all time favorite Guitarists, and Van Halen being probably my favorite Band.
As far as gear preferences go, I've always being partial to the Marshall sound, and as you can see from my Sig I've owned The Marshall DSL, Peavey Wolfgang and Strat for over 2 years and still love that rig!
Hmm , What i've noticed technique-wise,
For me I love to play some kind of mix of Van Halen And Stevie ray, both guitarists for me are the Greatest to ever grace the planet IMO. Players like Vai IMO are just too Good, Too well rehearsed technique-wise, I like the bit of 'sloppiness' (compared to vai) that van halen and Stevie brought.
Hope that answered your question somewhat :bandit: :bandit: :bandit: :bandit:
