My Mom is one of those people that puts everyone she cares about first and worries about herself last, very selfless. I hope that's something that can be said about me as well.

1 thing in life you want to avoid doing so as not to emulate your family of origin

Some members of my family have become comfortable in mediocrity, for lack of a better term. They get up, sit on the couch, eat, use the bathroom, and go to bed. They don't care to push themselves or wish to accomplish anything. I don't ever want to get to that point.

1 life goal already fulfilled

Getting my Bachelor's degree and a Cisco certification within a couple months of one another was a big milestone for me.

1 life goal not yet fulfilled

I'm getting married on May 30 to a pretty amazing girl, so that would probably be next goal to cross off the list. After that I'd like to get the CCNP and start trying to advance in the corporate world.

My fiancee is finishing up her BBA, and will be going for her MBA and CPA. She already has accounting firms fighting for her here, so I imagine she'll wind up being the breadwinner of the family :laugh2:. In 10 years I see us with a family, living in a home we own instead of renting like we do currently, and hopefully living a fairly comfortable life where we can start to enjoy some results of the hard work we've done so far.

What's the difference between New Mexico and Arizona?

Site - climate, scenery, people, etc...

You avatar is intriguing, and I'm not usually into abstract art. Exactly what is it?

It's the word "avatar" scribbled onto a pink background using MSPaint. Before the "everyone change your avatars to pink to freak out Gearjoneser" thread, it was on a white background.

What is your approach to guitar playing?

Do you read any notation or do you play by ear?

Any regimented practice routine?

On a scale of 1-10, where are your hands right now with 10 being top shape for you and 1 being not toucjhing a guitar for a year.

Re: The Well XLIX: Halp, I need a finger extinguisher!

I try to stay very open-minded as far as what I play, I try not to limit myself to one style or genre. I do wish I had taken lessons and/or devoted more time to theory when I was first starting though, and that's something I'd like to delve more into.

Do you read any notation or do you play by ear?

Mostly by ear, but I do look up tabs. I can't read music, and I see that as a glaring hole in my skill set.

Any regimented practice routine?

Not right now, although I'm looking for one that I like. I've got a book called "Raising the Barre" with a lot of classical pieces arranged for guitar that's intended to be exercises for string skipping, alternate picking, legato, etc without being boring chromatic exercises. When I was working with it regularly I was more comfortable playing technical material.

Probably a 6 or 7 right now. Until about 3 weeks ago I was playing maybe an hour a week at the most, and had been that way for a few months. So, I'm still knocking the rust off, but I'm getting back to where I was before. I really try to work on my feel more than speed, but right now I still get tripped up occasionally even on some slower licks if I haven't touched it in a while. It's frustrating at times, but I'll get there!

This has to be the most depressing Well thread ever, am I really *that* disinteresting?

Don't answer that.

Re: The Well XLIX: Halp, I need a finger extinguisher!

Mine was pokey as well but these have been going on a long time.

What do you like in amplifiers? Tube or SS? Multi or single channel. Pedals?

Strat or Les Paul?

Re: The Well XLIX: Halp, I need a finger extinguisher!

I love tube amps, mainly EL84 or EL34 amps. I used to have a VHT Pitbull 45 that was just awesome, and would like to have another someday. I'd also like to spend some time with a Mesa Lonestar and Stiletto. Unfortunately, since I'm living in an apartment and not playing out these days, a modeler is the best fit so I currently play through a Flextone III. It's not bad, but I miss my VHT.

I like pedals a lot, my current favorite is the Vox Satchurator. Great little distortion box.

I'm a strat guy through and through.

Re: The Well XLIX: Halp, I need a finger extinguisher!

Well, this is pretty much dead and I'm going to be busy this weekend. So, I'll probably call this my last day and ask someone if they want to do the next one. Last call!

Re: The Well XLIX: Halp, I need a finger extinguisher!

One more very important question.

Deep dish or thin crust pizza? :D

Deep dish. IMO, the crust is just as important as the toppings, and with thin crust there's nothing to work with! I had some pizza last time I was in St. Louis and it was basically toppings on a huge Ritz cracker :laugh2:.

Hey!!! Watch it!!!

I take it you probably had Imo's or something similar. I personally prefer deep dish, but I love me some Imo's from time to time :-)

No offense intended bro LOL. Imo's sounds familiar, so that's probably what it was. The next day someone at the office told me all about Provel cheese and that I had probably consumed some.

No offense taken, it's an acquired tasted. Saint Louis style pizza is usually thin crust with provel, which apparently is only popular here. It's one of those things where you grow up with it and don't miss it until you move away. My buddy up in Minneapolis orders it the minute he gets back in town.
