I have always been an aminal person and thought being a veterinarian would be a cool thing to be. The wife wanted to be a vet when she was younger and my 8 year old daughter has decided she wants to be a vet when she grows up. I think I have had at least one of most of the common and a few uncommon pets as well.

Currently we have a hamster, a cat and a blue front amazon parrot and we had a canary for awhile but he passed away a couple of years ago. The canaries name was Sparkle and he was a rescue bird. I actually "caught" Sparkle on a job site but in reality poor old sSparkle picked me to save his feathery butt. He was clinging to a house I was remodeling next to the front door. I got my hand within 6 inches of him before he tried to fly away but he only made it maybe 10 feet, turned around and flew back to me, hitting my open hand and landing on the ground. I scooped him up and put him into a cardboard box I had on the site.

On the way home I stopped at the pet store, told the story of how I came to have him and asked what to feed him. The pet stroe chick informed me it was a ruby something or other canary and sold me a small cage and some food. I took Sparkle home and my daughter thought he was super cool and thats when we named him Sparkle. the poor thing spent the next few hours bouncing back and forth between the food and water dishes and after a couple of days he was right as rain and started singing for us.

One day a year and a half later my wife noticed that sparkle wasn't singing anymore and found him feet up in the bottom of the cage. We were all saddened by poor old Sparkles passing but at the same time I was happy that he chose me to save his butt and in trade he filled the house with canary songs which are far more pleasant than the noise made by a screaming parrot.

I have always wanted horses and one day it would be nice to own a house in a location that would support a "big doggy". I don;t know about a ranch per se, but a barn and a couple of horses would be cool. Our property up north is near a riding stable and we have been friends with the owners for generations. As a matter of fact the guy that founded the stables built our cabin and as a result I have been riding horses most of my life on a part time basis.

Animals are definately cool to have around.

Man being a Vet is a cool thing ,but not so easy for not so well build females ,especially when they work with racing Horses and other big animals.
Your family is lucky to have a dad like you for shure
I have 8000 horses around me in my new location in Sout France...You would love to walk around and see them running free heheh.

Lets say you filled your bed up with Rice Krispies and went to sleep. Lets say you pissed your self during a alcohol induced slumber. Would the snap, krackle, and pop, wake you up?

You toilet training experience must have been shame based and very punitive. I am sorry for your loss.......

What do you do for a living?

What's your life like in 10 years?

I own and operate a small remodeling/renovation business. My forte is Plaster, drywall trim and paint but I can handle most things residential. I normally sub out permitted trades iunless it is something small.

In 10 years I'd like to be the to the point with it that I have employees to do most of the heavy lifting so I can focus on sales and detail work. I have been doing a lot of insurance work lately because that is where the money is right now but if I can keep building my business at the current rate, I should be poised to really knock it down.

At some point I'd also like to go to luither school so I have something to do when I am REALLY old.

It's an 8 year old girl thing. I am sure she'll grow out of it and if not then more power to her. I think she assumes Vets are just about puppies and kittens at this point.

I have had a couple of people comment on what a cool dad I am and how happy and well mannered my daughter seems. I don't know that I am all that but I do enjoy her company and we have a lot of fun together. There is no one else I'd rather be with and I guess it shows. I am hoping that by treating her well she wont accept any less from men in her future.

I'd like to see that DB. 8000 of anything rocks!

That was a great story about Sparkle.

Sparkle was cool and really seemed to appriciate the home we gave him. He really got excited when any of us entered the room.

I miss the little guy.
