The Worst SD Pickup?!?!?!

Re: The Worst SD Pickup?!?!?!

There is one local music store where the dude working there is the same way about the Demon. He is a huge George Lynch fan! I bet he has a George Lynch inflatable blow up doll in the back he uses to pleasure himself on a daily basis!!!

ew ew ew ew :laugh2:

lew reckons theres no such thing as a bad SD pickup, just one that dosen't suit you. i agree. one thing you can't afford to do is go solely on the name of the pickup when you choose... the jazz, distortion and screamin demon are all examples i'd pick...

as for the one i dislike? i owned a hot rail bridge, and i didn't think it was versatile enough.. but its great *fun* when it's in it's own little ballpark, like all good pickups are ;)

Re: The Worst SD Pickup?!?!?!

Never liked the C5. Too bassy, shrill and harsh highs that are almost painful to listen to, and scooped mids. I know a lot of people love it, but for me, it was the worst pickup I've ever tried.

I didn't care for the C-5, but I used it in a very thin sounding guitar. I know for sure that I didn't like the Hot Rails, though.

probably the duncan distortion. i dont see the need for a pickup that creates so much output and distortion when a guitar amp or stomp box can do it for you. they sound overdriven on a clean channel of an amp which is good for some things but they dont give a good clean sound(with the volume rolled back its not much better :S)

I don't like the hot rails for the same reason.

Re: The Worst SD Pickup?!?!?!

I don't care for Duckbuckers. The first set of SD pickups I bought was a Lil 59 bridge and Duckbuckers for the middle and neck positions for one of my Strats. While I liked the Lil 59, the output of the Duckbuckers was too low and they were liveless. They didn't have that true single coil sound.
