Then & Now - Pics

Anyone got any pics of their guitars from way back in the day vs. now? Came to mind during my family reunion the other day, when I was able to raid a few photo books:

This is ~circa 1990 (since there is *no possible way* to tell that fact without it being said.) My dad is playing the guitar; it's a '76 Takamine F430 he bought new overseas 'because of the Eagles.' He is playing one of several chords he was ever able to. I am in the pic as well but I'm less enthusiastic to mention that.

I absconded with the guitar (with his permission) when I was ~14 or so maybe ten years after the pic was taken. I taught myself how to play using his Gordon Lightfoot & Neil Diamond songbooks from the seventies. Above, you can just about not see a bit of damage that occurred back in the early '80s (before my custody) where the the top cracked along the side; my grandma gave me a set of 'regular' gauge Martin Strings for Christmas, and when I tried to use these it just about ripped the top the rest of the way off. Got it repaired (not invisibly though since it's laminate,) and it's stayed in one piece for almost a couple more decades:

Still not my favorite guitar to play spec-wise and for a long time I thought it had an uncomfortable neck and I hated the sound; but nowadays it feels & sounds like home. It mostly lives in the case now to save wear, and because I don't play acoustic often anyway; but it's nice to have the guitar my dad strummed and sang to me with when I was three.

On a related note, my mom was about to give/throw away the chairs in the foreground; they were my dad's favorite so I saved them from the dumpster and they're coming to my house now.
