i realy need 2 learn theory and if i asked all of you how to construct each individual chord im shure youd get pissed off after a while...sooooooo
could any of you point me towards a website that would provide me with all the music theory ill ever need?

Theory is very difficult to learn on your own. I would suggest taking a music class in school, or 6 months with a guitar teacher will get you further than any web site will.

all the theory i have sofar is self taught, ill see a E7 chord and go "ys it 7?" then ill kinda analyse it, but thats hard and i bet most of its wrong aswell. you can only go so far calling a scale mixolydian when infact its dorian!!!

You REALLY should get a guitar teacher. I got one two years ago and I'm still taking lessons from him. Best thing I ever did for my playing. I guess you could learn the same stuff online, but it will probably take 5-10 times longer.

Dorian and Mixolydian are modes of the major scale

ok, ill try for a teacher, but id mutch rather teach myself but i wouldent mind it taking 10 years and id rather not pay for 2 years of lessons!

ok this is the best advice i can give:

go to the metallica website, get a username in the metallica messageboards. go into the musicians forum. at the first post at the forum there is a sticky thread that says "music theory 101" go into that thread and read all the pages. my name there is LPshredder, if you have any questions there just PM me and i'll try to answer them the best i can
