TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Marin posted some great clip sometime ago, using this backtrack.
Then was so nice to upload the entire track.
So I set out to do something else with it.
Using my Wolfgang, APH-1n, and a hybrid of a Demon and a JB if I remember correctly, using a Two Faze phaser along with the usual drive and delay, going through the Hiwatt and the Peaveycab.

This is also a recycler...

Great stuff as always. Why the people of this forum aren't raving about you like i do is a mystery. I rate you as good as anyone on the planet.

I can hear all of those tips you gave i in regard to my playing in this track. More gaps in playing. The occasional 'foreign' note. Unusual bends.

This track has it all.

BTW, I hope you don't mind but I'm collecting these clips to put on a CD. (for own use).

BTW - what's a recycler? Is it an old clip you've posted before?

Lee

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

damn it i just posted in your other thread saying i liked that one best now i've listened to this one

sounds awesome Rid - you always seem to get a nice tone whatever you're playing

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Thanks again nuntius:)
I love the bottomend of that Hiwatt amp.....my E string is dropped to D in this one, and you can hear it rumble at places on the track...:burnout:hehe biiig sound, hope that I can do the amp more justice in the future, need to play around with the toys.

Awesome Rid... you really have a heck of a talent. And it's supported buy good knowledge, which is an unbeatable combination.

Lee, you wonder why Rid don't get the recognition he deserves? Well, I think some people really hate the fact that Rid's a heck of a lot better than they'll ever be... this can be annoying for some.

I wish I had better knowledge to support my playing. I'm getting to a comfortable level of playing, and the problem's no longer my fingers, it's my brain. I wish I could find a good book on musical theory applied to the guitar. Most book I saw are too general and covers too much ground for my needs. I don't want to lead an orchestra.

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Thanks SlyD....
Well it would unfortunate if I offended some by playing the way I do, I just like to play, and these clips are all what I have these days, no time form new bands right now.

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Well that's what can be annoying precisely Rid... some people are in bands and are totally delusional. Their playing suck, they don't want to admit it and then they see this guy with no band doing clips on the Internet and beating the crap out of their playing. Don't wait for a standing ovation from these guys :)

Let's just hope it's not the case.

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Heh well I have played for alot of years, never wanted to rush anything, have been in bands, had sideman stints, now I am in a quiet period, so making clips is tons of fun, man I wish VHoholic around here..hehe;)
He probally busy touring with Sammy and the other guys:laugh2:

thats where people go wrong. the best way to get better is to learn from those who are better :)

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Totally agree nuntius... BUT, many doesn't unfortunately (there's a name for that: loosers). I'd go even further and say that you can't go anywhere in life if you don't accept that some will be better than you can ever be. It should never stop you. I saw a video of George Lynch the other day... back from the 80s... man, this guy is so freakin' hot... I know I'll never be that hot, but I can use him as an inspiration to go further.

Maybe we'll talk this way about you someday... at 16, you still have plenty of time to blossom into a superstar :cool2: Why not? Don't just become a good musician... some a pretty sore loosers. Become a star... stars can play sloppy and are filthy rich (does anyone care if Keith Richard is sloppy? He doesn't care anyway... he laughs to the bank alright). Good musicians are better players but they eat peanut butter sandwiches for dinner - in their good days :laugh2:

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

lol unfortunately true!

if i didnt get in a decent band i'd at least try to get work as a session musician

but hey music runs in my family - my mum was an opera singer in italy and she plays piano better than i ever will so being a musician is part of my life (well trying to be one)

as for the losers. hey, they can listen to Rid and be jealous, but nobody makes us listen to them :laugh2:

i think accepting people will always be better helped me a lot. i used to try and practise to become as fast as someone like Vai or Petrucci but theres no need in that.

they're better technically than i ever will be, so i changed everything and try and play music i hear in my head and think is catchy - far more fulfilling than getting frustrated that i cant do a sweep arpeggio at a billion notes per second

Rid is testament to this - i'd rather listen to him than Yngwie shredding any day of the week :)

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

That's exactly what I meant... I think when we listen to people with tremendous natural talent, it can get discouraging and can actually make us stop playing. No good.

As human beings, we all have our own uniqueness... this, nobody can take away from you, not even Steve Vai.

And I'm not surprise you're from a muscians family, really, I'm not sure that you're aware of your talent... I which I was that good at 16.

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Niiice. Just listening through right now, and I'm loving the playing and tone. Good stuff.

Re: TheresaNWK thanks to Marin for the track.

Rid, i think it'd be cool if you and marin did a jam together, i think your styles would compliment each others :)
