Thermistors in delay pedal?

Does anyone have any idea why thermistors would be used in a delay pedal? There are two in this Rocktek ADR-02 delay pedal I have, and I can't think of any possible reason for them. I'm sure there IS a reason that I am overlooking, but then again I'm just getting into reading and building circuits. Anyway, there are two of them on this board, a 1M and 100K. Anyone have any ideas? I know pictures of the top of the board won't really help with this, but I figured I'd include them anyway.

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

Ok, this time I triple checked to make ABSOLUTELY SURE I was posting in "The Pedal Board", but Tapatalk sent my thread here instead. I apologize guys, I promise I'm trying to put all this stuff in the proper subforums.

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

Do you mean those tiny pots that you would need a precision screwdriver to change?

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

OK, that makes a lot more sense. I looked up the RT designator and it told me it was for thermistors. So those are meant to be adjusted?

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

More; can be, not meant to be. I wouldn't go tweaking them unless you have an idea what they do.

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

They might set bias points to adjust for variations in production of transistors. I know that's what the trim in my GGG Script Phase90 kit does, and I had to set it myself. Looks like there's some transistors in that circuit, but who knows.

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

There are about 4-5. This pedal is terrible sounding, that's why I asked about adjusting them. Its probably just the way its put together though. I will probably end up scrapping it and using the box for the fuzz I'm about to build...

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

They are for biasing the clock and the BBD.
Leave a mark where they are now, if you want to adjust them!
And if it is already out of whack, it is not hard to hear when it starts cleaning up.

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

If you think it's terrible sounding, I'll take it! I'll even trade you something for it, whatever you want. I could have fun with that. The two trimmers are likely clock and BBD bias. Probably won't help the sound of the pedal that much.

Frank will science some good tone out of it. :p

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

I may take you up on that. A friend of mine left it with me about a year ago, so I'll have to run it by him, but I really don't think he wants it either.

Re: Thermistors in delay pedal?

Designation, RT2. Hmmm . . . something about that rings a bell. :scratchch
