What is the thickness of the maple top and the mahogany back in a Les Paul? If I could have the measurements in both inches and centimetres, that would be great! Thanks.

According to Melvin Hisc*ck's book "Make Your Own Electric Guitar", the mahogany is 1-3/4" (44.5 mm) thick and the maple cap is 1/2" (12.7mm) for a Les Paul. The overall body thickness tapers down from 2-1/4" in the center to 2" at the edges.
You may be able to confirm these dimensions, and find lots of other useful info, by searching the Musical Instrument Makers' Forum (mimf.com) Library - you have to sign in first to see the Library.
