Thin picks?`

Re: Thin picks?`

.60 Dunlop Lucky 13s here...

I've had everything from über thick 3mm Stubbys to .46 Nylons the 1mm Stubby Jazz or how it's called... until recently I used the 1mm Ultex... but they always felt a bit brittle and they kill your picking dynamics because they don't flex. The .60 Lucky 13s have great grip and just the right amout of bend so you can actually "feel" the string and adjust your playing style to whatever is needed. And they look way cool. But that's a different story. ;)

I wouldn't say that thick picks kill your dynamics...they just make you work a bit more to get them...I've been playing with thick picks for years, and I can make my guitar whisper.

Probably you're right, probably not... I think this is just one of these really subjective matters. Whatever floats your boat.

Whatever floats your boat.

Exactly.

My point with this wasn't really to say any particular pick was superior to any other, but that after years, I finally figured out how to use the thinner ones. I'm glad it went the direction it did, though, as it's very interesting how varied all of our approaches are.
