Thinking about getting a Emg 89r for the neck position in my Jackson and I need help

I have a Jackson strat that has 81/85 combo in it with quick connect system. I was wondering if I can change the 85 to a 89R without any problems? It has a volume and tone knobs and it is wired exactly like this.

This the closest wiring diagram I could find, but it is with that damned buss thing. I'm a bit confused what I'm supposed to do with the wiring.

So this what I figured:
-I would leave the bridge pickup as is in the diagram.
- 89R the wires to the push/pull pot and the red wire the same place as the red wire from the previous place it had been for the neck pickup.

This is the part I'm confused about:
- Should I leave the battery as is or?
- What are the two white cables that go the tone pot and the push/pull pot

I would be very grateful if you can help me with if it can be done and how.

Happy New Year

I found the instruction manuals so I'm one step closer to the solution. So here's what I'm thinking:

- Switch output is the same as the buss output so I put the white wire from it to master tone.
- The other white switch from the master volume to the neck input on the switch.
- One white between the volume and tone knobs and one going to the output jack.
- Leave the battery as is on the diagram.

So is that it or am I getting it wrong.

You don't need that additional connection board since your blade switch module has all the connection points needed.

First you need to decide where you prefer to locate the push-pull control. It can replace either the volume or tone control. Both are possible by moving the jumpers on the push-pull module, depending on your preference. The connection sequence will also vary according to your choice.

Thanks for helping. I have 81 in the bridge and the 85 in the neck.

I did not put my thoughts clearly so here's what I'm aiming for. Leave the 81 bridge and the switch in place. Put the 89R in the neck and use the volume pot as push/pull control for the 89. Master tone knob as a regular tone. I know that I don't need the buss. The thing I'm not sure is the placements of the wires on the buss that corresponds with the places on the switch. I think the battery wiring should be left as is.

The installation you are doing is very similar to diagram #10 shown in the instructions for the EMG 89R, except you have the 3-way blade switch/bus module in your guitar.

Please also have a good look at diagram #4 in the 89R instructions. That shows the location for the blue "jumper shuts" that need to be fitted on the Push-pull control.
