Yes I've been thinking 'bout cabs for my jcm 900 50 watt head, and first I looked at the Marshall 1936 cab, which is a 2X12, but just found a 4X12 cab in a store here, for about the same price, and it has two celestion v30's in top, and two celestion hot 100 in bottom for massive bottom end (that's what it says), and it's a Hughes and Kettner cab, don't you think I should go for that instead of the 2X12, since they're the same price, and I guess it would be nice with a good bottom end?!?

I think this should be more a preference matter for you if you can actually move the larger half stack and sound preference. I would bring in your amp and try both of them to see which cab you like better sound wise. Using a 4x12 will mean more apparent loudness as the amount of sound spread is more. If you plan to move you cab around alot for gigs and stuff like that I would get the 2x12, unless you can really deal with carrying around a half stack. For me preference wise I like my 1936 2x12, it has plenty bottom end on it for me and I can move my setup easily by myself. This problem is more a tone problem for you, I think the 4x12 would probably sound better tonewise, but you need to consider the volumes you need to deal with. Other side of problem is if you can deal with moving everything around if you are, but just kept at home for practicing would be okay I guess. When you test out the cabs see if you can deal with volumes you experience from the cabs then compare them.

Well, I cannot try them out, I simply do not have that option. The shop with the Marshall isn't near me, and the shop with the H&K is in another country. I appreciate your help, and I don't really think I could go wrong with either, but the 4X12 is really appealing to me because it costs the same (it's new, but a discontinued model, that's why they almost like halfed the price or something).
