Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

That's a nice-looking bass but it's not very purple or sparkly or heart-shaped now is it?

Warwick?

Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

Bronco basses are cheap and very easy to play, although you need to replace the bridge with something better.

Yeah, the Batz Maru is a Bronco. I havent actually heard great things about them, but I wouldnt mind one to go alongside my black Hello Kitty.

That heart-shaped thing is gonna be awful to play. Unless you like the headstock crashing into the floor.

Get a J-bass copy.

Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

I think it's a Daisy Rock. I've been very seriously getting a real upright bass lately...

Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

I think Music Man Stingray basses are really nice - I've always liked those. The OLP Stingray knockoff basses are pretty good for the money if you don't have the funds for a nice Music Man - there's always a few OLP's on ebay. Many of the used OLP's you find these days people have already upgraded pickups, preamps, and such to make them very decent playing and sounding instruments.

If that purple one floats your boat then do it!!

I wanted either a MM Sterling and a G&L 2000/ 2500..... ended up with a Sandberg .... so glad I did!

Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

CIJ Fender is the way to go IMHO. Buy one used and you've got a great axe stock for the money. I think I spent something like $200 on my Aerodyne "Jazz" Bass.

Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

It'll go nice with your Pink Hello Kitty Strat. All you then need is a she-male lead singer to pull it all together. What size implants are you going to get? I say go bigger for the stage presence.

No way - Batz definetly goes with the Mojo Jojo-caster.

Re: Thinking of getting a 4-string bass...

Not sure if this is a serious thread or not but I actually went bass shopping yesterday!

I have an 80's MIJ Jazz bass thats a great bass, the electronics have HAD it at this point and when I redo them I think Im gonna try a set of Antiquity Jazz Bass pickups in it but I went loking for a different bass yesterday...came home empty handed but I did find a few things that were cool...

The Marcus Miller J Bass is pretty KILLER...the actives make is much more versitile than a standard Jazz bass.

Tried a Stingray again...cool bass but not nearly as versitile as most people would have you believe.

I'll tell you guys this, those MIM and CIJ Fenders are the real deal...

I think Im gonna end up getting another Fender bass and when I do it'll likely be a newer CIJ or MIM...hard to beat!

$200 for an Aerodyne?!! When those first came out I was killing myself trying to afford the $600 new price, then ended up buying a Warmoth instead :smokin:

This thread was started as a joke but if there are $200 Aerodyne basses floating around thennnn it just got pretty serious.

Haha. I guess I really lucked out - it was a Guitar Center used one that had the poly finish chipped off in a spot on the neck so it must have been heavily discounted.
