Thinline tele build

So what’s better than a telecaster ? A thinline telecaster of course . So the idea started after thinking about the mij thinline I sold . The wood choice what’s the real hard part what would the body be ? At first I thought ash but I argued with my self for a while over getting another ash tele. It’s like everyone has an ash tele I wanted something that would stand out ,something eye catching, something to make you go wow , something you could consider “guitar porn” my final choice was walnut . The pickups be seymour Duncan stl-1 and str-1 . Three barrel brass bridge , one volume and vary-tone switch like an es345 and 5 way switch . For a these combination .” Neck(alone ),bridge (alone),neck and bridge(normal ) , neck and bridge (out of phase) ,neck (52 blackguard mod),
schaller da vinci machine heads, Madagascar ebony on walnut neck. Yes I have a long process ahead of me but I think it will be worth the blood sweat an tears. I only have the body at the moment but the rest will come in due time . In the meanwhile enjoy these photos I have of what has been done so far.
Tone bomb sent pics of the assembly of the body

Re: Thinline tele build

Thats a great looking guitar.

Was it all CNC programming to get the body and top into shape???

Re: Thinline tele build

Nice! A walnut Tele has been in the back of my mind for quite some time, and yours is beautiful! Keep the pics coming!

Re: Thinline tele build

Man, I gotta get one of those CNC machines. Quick, easy, precision.

That's some really, really nice looking wood. Those body chambers are almost identical to what I came up with for the last two guitars I posted (the blue Tele and orange LP).

Have you considered binding on the front? That would really set it off. Even just a single ply white, but a 3 ply white/black/white would be awesome.

So, what does ToneBomb charge for that?

Re: Thinline tele build

I'll be interested to know the weight when it's finished. Even chambered, walnut can make a guitar pretty heavy.

Re: Thinline tele build

One coat down 6 more to go then to let it sit for a week and then a good espection to see what I missed and go over with 5000 grit paper and hand polish to a shine .

Re: Thinline tele build

Wow! I love me some nice timber!
Is the body heavy? How is it compared to the other Tele body?
