My prayers have been answered!!! A quality high gain, 2 channel amp at around 25 watts.

I've been wanting a single recto for ever, but its too loud. Not practical in an apartment. This is the answer. THANK YOU MESA!!!

Have fun with it. I'm not downplaying them, but they're not for me. Up until now, I'd thought that recto mush (to my ears, anyway) was from the rectifier. I guess they're just voiced that way. The cleans sounded fantastic and that blues rock thing with the Tele was badass, too. I guess, for Mesa/Boogie, I'm more of a Mark kinda guy.

Man what videos were you listening to? I know rectifiers aren't for everyone, and I definitely dig the Mark V, but that little amp sounds incredible.

As long as you avoid modern, and instead do the vintage lead mode, rectifiers sound really nice with the right cab/speakers, AFAIC. None of that fizzy farty garbage that has made the amp (in)famous.

The pushed clean channel on that clip sounds excellent as well- kinda dark, fendery crunch- reminds me of the clean channel of my old F50 pushing the power section hard.

I wouldn't mind having one of these at all- though for the same $ considering head/cab, I'd rather score a TA, or used Stiletto ACE

i am curious about these, but concerned that they might not have enough versatility in the mid crunch/grind/dirt arena ... i am sure they have the massive gain thing down and the clean thing ... but for me, its all the stuff in the middle that i need in addition to those ... if ch2 is responsive to the volume control / picking hand attack, then it might be a go

it seems to me that the TA15 has the clean and dirt, but without the high gain for a real liquid soloing tone ...

will have to play themboth to see if either can do everythign i need

They show the settings in each video. In the clean demo, the volume is 1/2 way up and the gain is 1/2 way, so it seems to me that it's going to have ample headroom. In the metal video, the gain is set around 1:00 so it seems that there's still even more gain you can add for a liquid solo tone. By all indication, it seems like they really nailed it with the mini rectifier. I'm super pumped about it. Finally I can get that freaking rectifier grind at manageable volumes.

WOW!!! When is it coming out??

My ENGL Gigmaster might need a new home. Between the Mini Rec. and the Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister.....I got some decisions to make.

I'm with Formula on this one. The cleans and lower gain samples sounded pretty good but I didn't care for the higher gain ones. Something about them was a little unpleasant and grating to my ears.

Pretty cool if you're going for the Dual Rec thing. Just not my style, I guess.

I liked the clean sound but that's about it. I've never been much of a fan of EL84s for heavier OD tones.

Any guesses on the price? Obviously we're talking over a grand right? Edit: my answer in the first ****ing post, I'll read more carefully. $999 sounds about right.

Anyone else put off by the el84s? This is very similar to the carvin v3m. In both cases the gain sounds a little fizzy, from the clips I've heard. The mesa obviously sounds much better.

I'd prefer it with JJ 6V6's, but the setup they have looks good.

The Modern gain thing is a bit of a joke as it has much more useful sounds than just the "fizzy farty" sound that people associate with them.

Yeah. Mesas usually have tons of switches for tone tailoring, plus they take plenty of tubes.
I bet if you want a middier, more focused sound from them, it won't be hard to get it.
