This guitar of mine

Re: This guitar of mine

you obviously like satriani.... good job great tone id put a little more saturation on it though...work on your rhythm to :) everything else is good.

Re: This guitar of mine

Sorry for asking, but why should I work on my rhythm?
Most all the players I like play across timings on purpose to loosen up the feel.
And the influence is not really Satch, more like Beck and such;)
As for gain, well I like clarity better.
But it is all a matter of different taste and probally age as well:D

Re: This guitar of mine

Love it! I thought the tone was about perfect for that groove. I don't understand the rhythm comment either.

How can you tell that someone needs to work on their rhythm playing when they are playing lead over a backing track?

Nice work Rid. Very smooth.

You are still too young Rid... :D. Ahaha... well, very nice and smoooth! I undestand the Satch relation, the feel reminds me to the beguining of The Extremist. I love the feeling of that hybrid, man!. Once I've made a 59/JB with an alnico V and the tone wan't even close. I guess Wolfgan helps too...

Re: This guitar of mine

Thanks guys, most kind and very much appreciated for sure.

Well mine is not how most would do it, I use the screwcoil from the 59, and the slug is the JB, it gives both clarity and that nice midrange I like.
Plus the A2 is good with that guitar, the APH-1 neck likes the guitar too.
I love that guitar:D

Re: This guitar of mine

Yes, I did it in the other way around... I've used the JB screw coil, he he. May be I should give it another try. :)

Re: This guitar of mine

Very nice groove and...what a sound! Is that the little secret OD box?

Regarding the rhythm.....just keep it loose.;)

Re: This guitar of mine

Thanks Marin;)
Nah just my FET Plexi that I made for myself for that extra bite and more vintage sound,
I am still trying to convince da boss about making one of these as a regular box:D
Hehe yeah I'll most certanly keep it very loose, could not play any other way I guess..hehe

Yeah and that A2 does not hurt either, but I guess it depends on what guitar you use?

Re: This guitar of mine

Every time I hear your clips I'm reminded how much I'm lacking as a player.
Great stuff, as usual, Rid!

Re: This guitar of mine

very cool...that backing track sounds like something out of an action movie during an intense scene hehehe...great playing!!

Re: This guitar of mine

That was a fun one, Rid. Again, just great playing. Question; in regards to your Plexi Drive pedal, what do you mean by FET? I'm assuming it's some sort of modification to the production pedal.

Re: This guitar of mine

Thanks Mike, ah FET's...well instead of using the usual diodes for the clipping part, I stuck in a few FET's instead, some of the more highgain ones actually, I rather like the sound, it is not not for all as they have some charateristics that some would find hard and unforgiving, they do however give you that unmistakenly British vibe.

Re: This guitar of mine

Really cool track! I like your melodic ideas, and some of those chops are really creative and interesting to listen to. Where do you find all your backing tracks?
