this guy does not know what he's selling

Re: this guy does not know what he's selling

The price isn't bad, but it always had an external speaker jack if you wanted to use a cab instead. You could always remove the speakers too.

If the guy wanted a Twin head, why didn't he just buy a Dual Showman?

Re: this guy does not know what he's selling

I dont get some of you guys, that an awesome sounding vintage amp for a REALLY small price, who cares if its "collectable", I think it is actually cool that its been cut in half, what an awesome story it would be: "Yah, i bought this thing off ebay for 400$, some guy cut it in half but it still sounds great!", HOW ROCK AND ROLL IS THAT!!! I hope whomever gets that thing, is someone who is a player who cant really afford a blackface but has always wanted one and will play it to death and not care that its not "collectable"... So hands off gear whores, let that player have his amp!

Re: this guy does not know what he's selling

You got the right idea. That amp probably started life as a player and will die a player.
It's usually those amps that were played to death that sound the best anyway.

The True issuse here is NOT collectabilty ! But what's it gonna sound like
outta the box. Because of the low reserve This makes me raise a eyebrow?
I've owned a few BF Fenders in my time. Got em' cheap back in the 80's
Before the vintage market craze. In all case's the amps I got where in some
form of disrepair. The filter caps are useally spent. And the caps & resistors
may have driffed off spec. this could add to the vintage vibe or make it sound
like crap ?? You can't tell unless you play it ? Just read the Jeff S. reply, He
spell's it out pretty good !! Now don't get me wrong Any BF Amp in good
repair sounds amazing !! But these's Baby's almost always need some TLC.
SRV got amazing tone from his BF Fender's ,And I'm sure this kept Ceaser
Diaz very busy. Kinda even made Ceasar famous as a Amp Guru :)
MY GUESS ?? This baby is gonna spend some time on a Tech's bench
Before it's READY TO ROCK N' ROLL :D At $400 I'd say it's a good deal
as long as the output tranny is original and not ready to croke? These
are all questions that need to be asked B4 bidding on something like this?
CAVET EMPTOR !!! :laugh2:

if i had the money I'd get it & take it to the tech

even if i did end up throwing down another $200 or so, its totally worth it. and 2x12 cabs are cheap enough
