That looks like Slash's original Kris Derrig Les Paul.
So if a new player bought this guitar used at a pawn shop and the story and history are not his own is he being a fraud and a poser somehow?

If you buy a broken ass guitar because it's all you can afford and you got it a great deal . . . then no problems. Givver hell.
If you pay extra to get someone to break your guitar because you're afraid to write your own story . . . then yeah, you're a fraud and a poser.

No playing style by anyone for any length of time will create the wear patterns on some of those.
.
So my new used guitar has that "reliced" look. The black is totally worn off the pickups and bridge giving the look that the guitar has been played hard. This is the condition I bought it in. Am I a poser because I didn't put the wear on the guitar myself. Should I have left a great deal on the shelve because I didn't contribute to the wear and tear on the guitar? Should I repaint the bridge and pickups to bring them back to an unreliced look?
Feels like you're being tongue in cheek here. Clearly it's fine because even if you didn't put in the wear, someone else did. That wear got you a deal, which is great.
The important point there is 40% off, not factory-reliced. If you got a Fender at 40% off, godspeed, reliced or not.So if I found a factory reliced Fender 40% off what would be different in buying that guitar?
I'd at least give them a good scrubbing. So my new used guitar has that "reliced" look. The black is totally worn off the pickups and bridge giving the look that the guitar has been played hard. warrantys usually only apply to the initial purchaser, and i cant imagine they would cover such cosmetic things regardless.Best just to check if it's still under warranty and send it back to the factory to have them fix it
