Email the CS and see what they can do.

They likely can't do the exact specs but might be able to get you close to the tone.

However by the time you pay for the CS Mini's you could have bought the full size versions and just had the guitar routed for less.

and the mini's in those 70's Tributes aren't like normal mini's. They're a new design from Gibson. Rails under the covers, and HOT HOT HOT output. You will probably like them.

+1 for trying out the stock pickups.

-1 for "probably".

Please, don't be an Icehole or an Ice-trozombie.

If they are Firebird pickups, then they are not like the originals, but they also aren't a new design TMK. Gibson have been making them with ceramics for some time. If, OTOH, they are mini humbuckers, then they are not the same as the dual-blade Firebird pickups, and they really aren't that far off from the original Epi New York pickups. The pic of the guitar that the OP put up is too small for me to tell whether the pickups are mini humbuckers or Firebird pickups.

I think I'll pull the trigger when I get my tax return.....

Here's what Gibson has to say about the new '70s Tribute pickups:

Gibson.com said:
To help the Firebird Studio ’70s Tribute rock with unparalleled character and articulation, Gibson USA loads it with a pair of Dual Blade Alnico Mini Humbuckers. Entirely new pickups from Gibson USA, these units improve upon the best attributes of the former Mini Humbuckers seen in the Les Paul Deluxe in the ’70s, and the different Firebird Mini Humbuckers of the early ’60s, in an efficient design that uses dual steel blades and an Alnico magnet for a vintage voice that still retains plenty of chime.

I have a '70s Tribute Les Paul, which rocks! I think the maple neck and mini buckers really correct some of my issues with a Les Paul. I've played a '70s Tribute Firebird for a couple hours and loved it. It's a different sound than the LP because of the shape and thickness of the body, but a really good sound. I almost bought it and am still thinking about it, but I just don't need another guitar. Go for it!

Minis won't sound like full size hums. Single coil size hums are never quite the same... Further, p90's never sound quite right unless they are in their original shape. Everybody has tried to make a hum sized p90, there's lots that sound close, but none that nails it.

Gibson Fire-bird are the great guitar's of 70's,with more efficient design. The calibrated pickup winding offers balanced output for rhythm and lead positions with increased output on the bridge pickup.

I would recommend replacing the pickups with Firebird Antiquities. You will not be disappointed. Amazing mini hums!
