This just might be the "holy grail" of guitar amps!

Re: This just might be the "holy grail" of guitar amps!

The love affair starts to wane when I think about lifting it. Not that you'd gig it, of course...

not that you'd gig it? if I bought an amp like that, better be damn sure I'd gig with it :) I don't buy a peice of gear that I don't expect to gig with, and that includes vintage gear :)

Oh man, I hear you on that! I tried moving my friend's 70's Vox and that thing redefines "heavy". I can't imagine a bigger version of that, but that's what this amp apparently is. The tone that thing has to put out must be killer :saeek:

Re: This just might be the "holy grail" of guitar amps!

It's not the weight I'm thinking about, it's the pricetag!!!! Oh well, I guess I'll have watch it get locked away for another 41 years, like he said. Can you imagine if you told Dikk Denny in 1963 that the amp on his bench would someday sell for $10,800?
It was probably $299!!!

i'm not much for vintage gear to begin with but i would never pay almost 11 grand for an amp. a couple thousand is hard enough to part with

I wish i was born in the 40's so i could have hoarded vintage gear. I would have bought every fender vibroverb and twin i could find.....then I'd sell all of them except a few and jam out with them until i die a happy man....
