Depends on how you want to measure fatness. It doesn't have the low end "lug" that a good Les Paul produces but it's more full across the low mids and isn't as bright... so to me it's fatter.


Great so see it is not just the vocalist (Chris Robertson) from Black Stone Cherry that can move away from his sexy Les Pauls, to PRS's.
I think he now use PRS guitars exclusively. And he used to be the biggest LP Fan out there.

Humbucker + P90 = good combination imho.

Never been a problem for me.

Way back, just when the guitar got released (atleast within the same year, if memory serves me correctly), i found myself in the ''Fender amp front'' guitar store in Portsmouth (UK) and i seriously thought of getting this one :

Long story short, i did not.
Bought some Bare Knuckle pick ups (three i think), UK-made pedals and what not.

I tried it with a full-size Recto and Mark V for a bit. Where I ran into trouble is that I ride my volume knob a lot. They both sounded great at full throttle, but when I let off the gas both amps idle down at a different rate (if you catch my drift) and it made hitting those in-between sounds harder.

I found I preferred two of the same amp. It's basically a thickener.

Rather than type a review I've decided to post some crappy cellphone videos.

Clean and Vintage, both at 25w. Master volume around 10:00 on both channels. I originally recorded them so I could hear what they sounded like recorded vs in-the-room where the 4x12 has an obvious advantage. Decided to post the results.

With my Rectoverb-25, I use an Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master in the loop with a minimal slap back to achieve a similar effect - it works really well for me.

As it isn't my main amp, I still feel like I'm getting to know the Rectoverb-25 - it's not quite at the intuitive stage for me, but getting close.
