Great pickup. Great with some distortion, but clean to semi-clean it has a beautiful complexity and bloom, a certain sweetness yet with plenty of nads. I had one in an old LP Deluxe and it sounded so good that I kick myself daily for selling it. I can't remember what value of pots or caps I had in it (ignorance was bliss, I guess) but chances are they weren't 500k pots so if they are too bright for you perhaps you can get a lower value.

It's bright and very open, with lots of character.

I had one and it had a good character but was a bit lacking 'nads' IMO. and it was very buzzy on D chords and such, the pickup I have in there now is much much better, only 50 bucks and I love it, many people forget about the burstbucker which has A2s and talk about the burstbucker pro which has A5s. mine is #3 and is 8.7k, it has that subtle 'shift' to the notes and is nice and beefy with sweet mids and perfect bass. Not what you asked but this thing beats the crap out of the PGb IMO

I JUST put a Pealy Gates bridge inmy 1983 Gibson Moderne, I took out the Stock Gibson Pat# pickup to put it in...let me start by saying WOW!!! I LOVE this pickup, I was gonna wait for the PG neck to get here...but I kept looking at the box and just gave in...warmed up the iron and BAM it was done!!! this pickup sounds good clean, kinda dirty, crunchy as hell...I can really get my Billy F Gibbons on but...it does AS much more...with enough crunch I was able to get some down right metal crunch with this thing...and best of all it has AMAZING clarity! And with just a hint of overdrive it has a beautiful blooming type sound on the lower strings, the harmonics just fall off the strings with this pickup...Zack Wylde, eat your heart out...this one sounds better, and doesn't runn on batteries! I should be getting the neck model sometime early next week, i'll have a full report for both neck and bridge by then!
