I may be totally off, but I think you would be hard-pressed to replace the sound of a LP Special P-90 w/a Fender P-90 guitar. I have owned a lot of P-90 equipped guitars and I never got the Gibby P-90 sound from a fender. Now I did get some really great sounds from fenders w/ P-90s. If a P-90 sound is all you're looking for then, this should be wonderful...I just don't think it will sound like your old Gibby. I absolutely love Teles w/P-90s!!!! They ROCK!

It won't sound like a Les Paul Special.
It will sound like a Telecaster with P90's.
So it'll probably sound pretty good.
Gibson has the P94, which is a P90 in a full humbucker-sized pup. Am really digging this idea, leaves room for change.
aaaand none of them sound exactly like true P90's :smokin:
Of course neither will the Fender Black Dove Single Coils. That's what they call P90's
I'd rather have a Fender JA-90.
