Thrash Machine

This is an old song of mine I had on my computer, I wanted to try using an external FX pedal into my Toneport so I did the wah-wah part here with my Boss Me-20.
It turned out much better than I thought it would! Gonna have to experiment some more with my pedals, rather than just using the Toneport's built in stuff.

Let me know what you think, especially of the wah solo. :smoker:

dude that was so frickin' thrash- i love it! the solo sunds great, wah sounds good. i love how it goes along with the rhythm at the end. tones were great allaround, though the drums got a little lost once the guitars came in. it's got a very catchy intro.

Thanks mate. Drums mean nothing to me since I have no real way of doing them properly, so they're just there to make things sound as they "should". So if the drums are the main weak spot, that's great!

I like doing stuff where I can let the bass take a bit of a lead role.

I'd do that if I knew how. I just make a loop for one bar, then , well, that's about it for the whole song!

ya buy a real cheap keyboard and set it to drums, then plug it straight into the toneport :laughing:

Sounded pretty nice... the only thing I was really missing a bit was a more aggressive pedal tone to fit better with the double bass drumming and raise the energy level, I´d say approximately twice as often. I´m thinking more along the lines of the first riff to "Pirahna" by Exodus

Thanks so much guys! The comment about the bass is especially nice, since I only recently picked up a bass for the first time and don't class myself as any kind of bassist. It's a REALLY cheap bass too, about £30 brand new IIRC! Plays and sounds alright for that money.

your best stuff yet I think, sounds like prog rock. The main riff rotates 2 loops from chromatic to the 2 note bridge. You might want to build on complexity. Im not into solo guitar type stuff unless it is amazing at a level comprable to an accomplished jazz musician, or someone that understands music theory at a deep level, and still Id rather listen to my miles davis instead; so Im prolly not the best critic for this. Your using one scale to solo on, the whole song never changes keys. I like your soloing better this round, the end part where the solo mirrors the riff sounds video game prog like. I can hear everything in the mix, but some parts the guitar solo doesnt sound that loud, kinda in the middle of the 2 panned riffs. Good ideas, Sounds good, keep it up!

I like it, it sounds good. Very violent sounding... but in a good way
