Today I was looking at a strat style body top routed for 3 humbuckers and I got to thinking -- would there be a significant change in the available range of tones if one were to angle a set of single coils / \ / or / | \ instead of the standard / | | , or would it just look nifty? :banana:

A local Guitar manufaturer has the pickups on his S-S-S strat style guitars and Hum-S-S set up like this for the s-s-s / \ | and for Hum-S-S like this | \ | . I personaly prefer the traditional method.

I'm starting to like the reverse Hendrix bridge angle lately. The Ibanez Roadstars and Prolines angled their singles like this: H \ \ and that's a pretty good sound, because the treble strings are smoother and bass strings are sharper. I suppose you could do a \ \ \ or \ / \.
