Give me some ideas...Got a Fender Jag HH Alder body, maple neck and the stock dragsters are ok but just not quite doin it and im gonna change both of em. Im not lookin for high output got that covered with other guitars so i guess im lookin for vintage to medium output. Tryn to find something warm sounding where the high notes are not so brittle/shrill and also when distorted it will sound clear and not just a mushy distorted mess with no definition. Duncan or Dimarzio it doesnt matter...Ive used them both .I like the dimarzio paf pro and was also lookin at the paf joe but i dont know what they would sound like in an alder body. NE input would help.

A smooth medium output pup would be the SD 59. I also like the PAF Pro; I use one in a mahogany bodied Hamer. That distorts very clearly, but I don't know about an alder body. Lots of pups I haven't tried, though!
